Sydney 1/4 > Japan (Alpha) Connection issues.

For the past couple of days (Nearing a week now), me and three friends (All in Australia, VIC and SA) who play FFXIV together are the only ones of our friends disconnecting, so out of curiosity, I found out we all use battle ping, and that we were all on Sydney 4 > Japan, and we all had a ping 0 on the server when we disconnected (Can indicate >1000ms or connection failure I assume?) So, I went into troubleshooting mode, I had switched to Connection type 2, they were still on 1, we switched to Sydney 1 > Japan, and the issue has just now repeated with a 0 ping to Sydney 1 > Japan.

What can be done to rectify the issue? As currently it is more reliable to connect without a VPN than to use one, and I really like BattlePing's latency improvement.
